Cookie Policy
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files saved on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to remember your actions and preferences. We also use similar technologies (local storage, pixels, tags) — hereinafter referred to collectively as “cookies”.
Based on their lifespan, cookies are either session cookies (deleted when the browser is closed) or persistent cookies (remain on the device for a set period). Based on who sets them, cookies are either first-party (set by the general.md website) or third-party (set by other domains — for example, by providers of analytics and advertising tools).

2. What Categories of Cookies We Use

The loading of tools is managed through Google Tag Manager (web and server), which does not set its own cookies.

Third-party cookies. When the statistics and marketing tools are active (i.e. after you have given your consent), their providers may also set cookies on their own domains. The main ones:

Other cookies belonging to Google domains may also be present in the browser (for example, those associated with your Google account) — these are not placed by our website and are not covered by this list. Such cookies are controlled by the respective providers; their exact names and durations are set by them and can be found in their documentation:
- Google — policies.google.com/technologies/cookies;
- Meta — facebook.com/policies/cookies;
- Microsoft — privacy.microsoft.com.
Session recordings made through Microsoft Clarity do not include data entered in forms — fields containing personal data are masked, and authenticated areas of the personal account are not recorded.
Other on-device storage technologies (local storage and session storage). In addition to cookies, the website uses the browser’s storage space (local storage and session storage). Unlike cookies, this data is not automatically transmitted with every request to the server and has no expiration date of its own: it remains in the browser until deleted by the website (for example, upon logging out of the account or withdrawing consent) or by you, through the browser settings.

This policy contains the complete list of cookies used on the public-facing part of the website. Cookies used by internal administrative tools, accessible only to authorized staff, are not covered by this policy. The same list is displayed in the banner’s details window (“See what cookies we use”) and in “Cookie Settings”. Whenever the list changes, we update this policy and its version number.
3. Legal Basis
Essential cookies are used without consent, as they are strictly necessary for providing the requested service. Statistics and marketing cookies are placed only after your prior, explicit consent (Law No. 195/2024; Article 10(2) of Law No. 284/2004).
Until consent is given, the consent signals (Consent Mode) default to “denied”: the tools do not set cookies and do not build profiles; until you make a choice, no cookie is placed in the browser. During this period, Google’s tools may transmit only anonymous technical signals, without cookies or identifiers, used exclusively in aggregated form (modeled measurement). Meta’s and Microsoft Clarity’s tools do not operate until consent is given. If you reject cookies, this regime is maintained.
Refusing statistics and marketing cookies does not affect access to the website and its services.
4. How to Manage Your Preferences
- On your first visit: the cookie banner with the equally prominent options “Accept All”, “Reject”, and “Customize” (the Statistics and Marketing toggles are switched off by default);
- At any time afterward: the “Cookie Settings” button in the website’s footer — you can change or withdraw your consent with immediate effect;
- From your browser: you can delete or block cookies from your browser settings (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge — see each browser’s support pages). Blocking essential cookies may affect the website’s operation.
Your choice is stored for 365 days (in the strictly necessary ga_consent cookie). After this period expires, or if you delete cookies from your browser, the banner will be shown again. We will also request your consent again if the list of tools used changes significantly.
Upon withdrawal of consent for marketing, we delete from your browser the cookies _fbp, _fbc, ga_visitor_id, all Google Ads cookies beginning with _gcl_ (_gcl_au, _gcl_aw, _gcl_ag, _gcl_gb) and FPGSID, as well as the keys _gcl_ls, ga_buyer_identity, ga_ad_click_ids, lastExternalReferrer, and lastExternalReferrerTime from the browser’s storage.
Upon withdrawal of consent for statistics, we delete the cookies _ga, _ga_H3G40DP5MK, _clck, _clsk, FPID, FPLC, and the key _cltk.
In both cases, the tools of the withdrawn category are stopped immediately, not merely deprived of access to cookies. The categories are managed independently: withdrawing one does not affect the other. Only the strictly necessary elements remain active — the ga_consent cookie, which stores your very choice, and the data entered in the order form, which is in any case deleted when the tab is closed.
What we cannot delete. Cookies placed on the providers’ domains (Google, Meta, Microsoft) cannot be deleted from our website — only the domain that placed them has access to them. Upon withdrawal of consent, we stop the tools and cease transmitting data, and those cookies may be deleted from your browser settings or by the provider that placed them.
Withdrawal is irreversible for data already deleted. If you give consent again, the deleted elements are not restored: for example, the link to the ad through which you arrived at the website (_gcl_aw) is created only when the website is accessed from an ad and cannot be recreated afterward.
Deletion applies from the moment of withdrawal.
Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
5. International Transfers
Providers of statistics and marketing tools (Google, Meta, Microsoft) may process data collected through cookies on servers located outside the Republic of Moldova. Such transfers take place under the conditions set out in Articles 44–49 of Law No. 195/2024, on the basis of appropriate safeguards. Details are provided in the Privacy Policy.
6. Updates
The list of cookies in this policy is reviewed periodically and whenever the tools used are changed. Changes are published on this page, with an updated version number and date, and the same list is updated in the banner window.
