Travel Medical Insurance

• Trips within the Republic of Moldova, in the insured person's country of residence, or in areas affected by military conflict.
• Events caused by war, invasion, hostilities, rebellion, civil unrest, acts of terrorism, or biological or chemical contamination.
• Consequences of alcoholism, drug use, intoxication, criminal acts, intentional self-injury or attempted suicide.
• Sexually transmitted diseases, HIV/AIDS, oncological illnesses, mental disorders, tuberculosis, diabetes, chronic renal or hepatic failure, and other conditions excluded under the contract.
• Pregnancy and childbirth, except for sudden complications, within the limits and conditions stated in the policy.

• For the acute exacerbation of a chronic condition, cover is limited to first emergency medical assistance and to the contractual sub-limit.
• In the case of pregnancy, cover may apply only to sudden complications, generally up to 30 weeks of pregnancy and subject to the insurer's age limits.
• If treatment is not coordinated with the assistance company or the insurer, reimbursement may be limited under the policy terms.
• If the assistance company is not notified as soon as reasonably possible and no later than 72 hours, reimbursement may be capped.
• For the Covid-19 clause, cover applies only if the option is expressly included in the policy.

The insurance is valid outside the Republic of Moldova and outside the insured person's country of residence, within the territorial area stated in the policy.

• When taking out the policy, to complete the application accurately and disclose the health status, pre-existing conditions, purpose of travel and any sporting or manual labour activities, where applicable.
• To pay the insurance premium in full before departure or before the start of the insurance period.
• To keep the policy and all supporting documents and to allow verification of the circumstances surrounding the insured event.
• In an emergency, to contact Nova Assistance immediately at +373 22 994 955 or via Telegram / WhatsApp at +373 79 005 222 and follow the instructions provided.
• To provide the insured person's name, the policy series and number, the insured period, the nature of the event, the address and a contact phone number.
• If it is not possible to notify the assistance company before consultation or hospitalisation, to do so as soon as possible and no later than 72 hours afterwards.
• If expenses are paid out of pocket, to submit the claim within the contractual deadline together with the supporting documents.

The insurance premium is payable in full, in a single payment, either in cash or by bank transfer, when the policy is issued and before departure or before the start of the insurance period.

The premium depends on the territorial zone, the sum insured, the duration of the trip, the age and number of insured persons, and any additional options selected.

Cover starts:

• At 00:00 on the first day shown in the policy, but not before crossing the border of the Republic of Moldova and only after the premium has been paid in full.
• If the insured person is already abroad when the policy is issued, the insurer's liability begins after the waiting period provided in the contract.

Cover ends:

• At 24:00 on the last day shown in the policy.
• Upon return to the Republic of Moldova, upon exhaustion of the sum insured, or in any other cases provided by the contract and applicable law.

The contract may be terminated by written request addressed to C.A. "GENERAL ASIGURĂRI" S.A., including by email at office@general.md or by phone at +373 22 78 38 00, subject to the notice period and conditions set out in the contract.

If termination is requested before the policy expires and no indemnity has been paid, any premium refund is made in accordance with the contractual provisions, after deducting the used period and any applicable administrative expenses, where permitted by law and by the contract.
