What type of insurance is this?

How to request insurance — 3 steps
- 01Fill in the online request — the crop or livestock, the area, the desired risks.

What risks does crop insurance cover?
Crop insurance covers quantitative losses caused by the risks stated in the policy: excessive drought, hail, floods and torrential rain, winter frost and late spring frost, wind damage to seedlings and lodging of crops. On request, fire damage to cereal crops and locust invasion can be added. The indemnity is calculated from the sum insured, the actual yield obtained and the deductible in the contract.
- Reduction in crop quality, price fluctuations or losses after processing/storage.
- Risks, crops or areas not indicated in the policy.
- Damage caused by uninsured risks or by agrotechnical work not carried out.
- Events occurring before coverage starts or during the suspension period.
- Intentional acts, war, terrorism, radiation or nuclear/chemical contamination.
- The risk must be confirmed by documents from the competent services and by the Commission’s report.
- Deductibles/compensation limits apply depending on the crop, the risk and the time of occurrence.
- For some risks, minimum thresholds of damage or crop reduction are required.
- If the subsidised part is not received, the payment may be proportional to the premiums received.
- The compensation cannot exceed the insured amount and is reduced by the value of the crop obtained/usable.
- On the agricultural land and areas indicated in the policy, contract and annexes.
- On the territory of the Republic of Moldova, in the localities and plots confirmed by documents.

- To submit documents on the crop obtained, the expenses, harvesting, storage and sale.
The premium depends on the crop or livestock group, the area or number of animals, the sum insured, the chosen risks and the deductible. For crops and livestock, the AIPA-subsidised share is deducted from the premium. Request a quote — General Asigurări specialists will calculate the premium for your farm and prepare the subsidy file.

How does state subsidy work?
Crop and livestock insurance is subsidised: the farmer typically pays 30% of the premium — their own share —, while the 70% share is requested through AIPA (the Agency for Agricultural Interventions and Payments). General Asigurări helps with the documents needed for the subsidy file. The crop contract is concluded for one agricultural year.
Agricultural machinery insurance
Tractors, combine harvesters and farm equipment can be voluntarily insured against damage risks — accidents, rollovers, fire, natural calamities, unlawful acts of third parties — and against theft, including of parts. Coverage applies during operation, standing, storage and transfer to or from the place of work, within the Republic of Moldova. Deductible: 10% of the loss for partial damage, 10% of the sum insured for total loss or theft; no deductible applies to isolated breakage of the windscreen or mirrors.
Livestock insurance
Subsidised livestock insurance covers the death or forced slaughter of animals identified by ear tags: infectious and non-infectious diseases — except those compensated by the state —, natural calamities, accidents and fire. For diseases, liability starts after 7 days of preventive quarantine; for other risks, after 3 days. The event must be reported immediately, and no later than 24 hours, to the insurer, the veterinarian and ANSA.
