Voluntary Accident Insurance

• Persons with severe disability or illnesses at a stage corresponding to that level of disability.
• Persons undergoing outpatient or inpatient treatment, or registered with narcological or psychoneurological services at the time the contract is concluded.
• Declared pre-existing illnesses or medical conditions, where the related risk has been excluded by special clauses.
• Events occurring before cover starts or during any suspension period.
• Risks not included in the policy or not supported by medical records or competent authority documents.

• No indemnity is payable for war, terrorism, riots, chemical or biological contamination, epidemics or pandemics, or force majeure events.
• Intentional acts, gross negligence, criminal acts, self-harm, suicide or attempted suicide are excluded.
• Accidents occurring under the influence of alcohol, drugs or toxic substances, or where testing is refused, are not covered.
• Driving without the proper licence or using a vehicle that is not technically roadworthy may exclude payment.
• High-risk sports and activities, competitions and official training sessions are covered only if declared and accepted under the contract.

In the Republic of Moldova or anywhere worldwide, depending on the territory stated in the policy, except for areas excluded under the policy conditions, such as war zones, terrorism, riots, travel restrictions, epidemics or pandemics, radiation or force majeure.

• When taking out the policy: complete the application, accurately declare your health status, occupation, hobbies, risk group and any other insurance, and pay the premium.
• During the contract period: inform the insurer of any changes that aggravate the risk and pay instalments when due.
• In the event of an accident: consult a doctor immediately, follow medical advice and take steps to limit the consequences of the accident.
• Notify the insurer promptly, but no later than 30 days after the event; for claims: med@general-asigurari.md, tel. 022 783 800.
• Submit the claim together with the policy or contract, identity document, medical records, documents relating to disability or death, and any other requested documents.

The premium is payable in MDL, in cash or by bank transfer, usually in full before the policy is issued. For group contracts, instalment payments may be accepted at the client's request, in accordance with the agreed schedule. The premium depends on the insured risks, the sum insured, the risk group, the territory, the period of cover and any applicable discounts.

For death cover, protection starts at 00:00 on the day immediately following payment of the premium; for trauma and disability, at 00:00 on the third day after payment, but not before the premium has been paid in full.

If the new contract is paid before the previous one expires, cover remains uninterrupted. The insurance period may range from 1 to 12 months. Cover ends at 24:00 on the last day of the insured period, when the full sum insured has been paid, upon termination, or in other cases provided by the contract or applicable law.

The contract may be terminated by written notice sent to the other party, subject to a 30-day notice period.

Where the contract ends by mutual agreement, the part of the premium corresponding to the unused period may be refunded. Where the insurer terminates the contract because the insured has failed to comply with the policy conditions, any refund is made after deducting administration expenses. Where the insured terminates because the insurer has failed to comply, no such deduction applies.

No premium is refunded if the policy has been in force for more than 10 months or if any indemnity has already been paid.
