If an insured event occurs while you are travelling abroad, it is important to request assistance as soon as possible. To help us handle the case quickly and efficiently, please follow the steps below.

What should I do when a TRAVEL insured event occurs?

If an insured event occurs during your trip, you must immediately contact our international assistance partner, Nova Assistance, as indicated in your insurance policy.

The event may be reported by:

  • the insured person;
  • a representative of the insured person;
  • the attending physician;
  • a representative of the medical or hospital institution.

What information do you need to provide to Nova Assistance?

To identify the case quickly and arrange the necessary medical assistance, please provide the following information:

  • the first and last name of the person who suffered the medical event;
  • the travel document;
  • the insurance policy number and the insured period;
  • the phone number and address where you can be contacted;
  • the start date of the trip;
  • the reason why you are requesting assistance (the current status of the event);
  • follow the instructions received from the Assistance Company - Nova Assistance.

Documents required to settle the claim

To review your compensation claim, you need to submit the following documents:

the insured person's claim form, describing the event and the amount of the expenses incurred (original);

the insurance policy;

the insured person's identity card;

the birth certificates of minors, where applicable;

documents proving that you crossed the border of the Republic of Moldova

air, train or coach ticket and the related invoice or receipt, or the vignette or road toll and the invoice or receipt proving payment of the road toll when leaving the territory of the Republic of Moldova by car for any neighbouring country, or a copy of the passport containing the travel visa and/or the entry stamp of the country of destination and/or the travel visas and/or the entry stamps of the transit countries;

in the case of dental treatment, the medical documents or invoices must contain information on the teeth treated and the treatment provided;

medical documents confirming the diagnosis and the treatment recommended by the attending physician:

medical certificate or medical extract issued by the medical provider, documents evidencing the treatment received, where applicable, including X-rays in the event of fractures or other investigations confirming the diagnosis (original);

invoices and receipts (originals)

issued in the name of the insured person for medical or repatriation expenses (medical repatriation or repatriation of mortal remains), including expenses for pharmaceuticals (copy of the prescription issued by the attending physician and the fiscal receipt issued by the pharmacy for the purchase of the medicines);

translation of the documents, if they were drawn up in languages other than Romanian or Russian;

bank details for payment in MDL (Moldovan lei);

any other documents relevant to the settlement of the claim.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

You must notify the event immediately after it occurs, but in any case no later than 30 calendar days from the date of the accident. Prompt notification helps us settle the claim more quickly.

Any person involved in the accident: the insured, their representative, the attending physician, or a hospital representative. It is important that someone reports the event as soon as possible.
